To locate a U.S. Postal Service drop box, go to USPS.com and click the tab Quick Tools. Then click the option Find USPS Locations. Next, choose Collection Boxes as the Location Type and enter your city and state or Zip code.
After you enter your location, enter any other search criteria, such as last collection time or whether the location accepts Priority Mail. If you wish to restrict the radius searched by the website, choose either one, five or ten miles from the drop-down menu to the right. Click Search, and the site generates a list of drop boxes within the search area and a map that shows icons corresponding to their locations. The list is arranged in order of closest to your location to furthest away.
To find a United Parcel Service drop box, go the company's website at UPS.com, and enter your city and state or Zip code. Choose one of the options from the drop-down menu, and then click Search. The site returns a list of nearby drop-box locations and a map similar to the one shown on USPS.com.
In addition to drop boxes, the Postal Service website lists other locations that accept packages, such as Post Offices, Approved Postal Providers and Self-Serve Kiosks. Registered users of the website also have the option of printing shipping labels for Priority Mail packages and scheduling a pick-up from their homes.
