How Do You Load a Packing Tape Dispenser?
To load a packing tape dispenser, position the tape so that it will unwind counterclockwise, secure the tape onto the dispenser wheel, thread the end of the tape through the slot between the dispenser and the shield, then cut the end of the tape across the tape blade. Many packing tape dispensers have an adjustable tensioner to make unwinding smooth, according to Packaging Tape Inc.
Packing tape dispensers help to streamline the process of applying tape to boxes or packages by allowing the user to unravel, adhere and break the tape with only one hand. While tape dispensers can come in different styles, use the following steps to load most packing tape dispensers.
- Position and attach the packing tape to unwind counterclockwise over the dispenser wheel
- Thread the end of the tape through the slot
- Rip the tape over the blade
Position the tape roll so that it will unwind with the sticky side facing down as the dispenser is pulled backwards. Clip the tape roll onto the spinning tape wheel.
Grab the tab of the end of the tape and pull it through the slot between the dispenser and the shield, allowing the tape roll to unwind.
Use the blades to rip the tab off of the end of the tape, then reconnect any casing that was taken off initially. Test the dispenser by pressing it against a box and pulling back to make sure the tape unravels and adheres correctly.
