In December 2014, LG announced the launch of its HomeChat Technology, allowing consumers to communicate with their refrigerators through mobile devices, to view the contents of their refrigerator while shopping and to minimize energy consumption when away from home. LG produced a number of South Korea's first appliances such as televisions, air conditioners and refrigerators.
