Medicare terminology can be learned through the comprehensive glossaries on the Medicare (Medicare.gov) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS.gov) websites. The WebMD website also has a glossary of health insurance terms that covers the Affordable Care Act and Medicare.
To access the Medicare glossary, go to the main page of the Medicare.gov website, and click on Glossary in the menu in the top right corner of the page. Click on each letter of the alphabet to peruse terminology in alphabetical order. To access the glossary on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid website, go to the CMS.gov main page, scroll down to the menu at the bottom of the page, and click on Glossary under Tools. Select alphabet letters to access definitions according to alphabetical order. To go to a separate glossary of acronyms related to Medicare and Medicare policies, click on Acronyms Tool under Related Links Inside CMS header.
To access the WebMD glossary of health insurance terms, go to the WebMD main page (WebMD.com), and select Health A-Z in the toolbar at the top of the page. Click on Insurance Guide, and select See All next to Insurance 101. Finally, click on Health Insurance Terms under Medical Reference.
