Le Creuset is a French company originally known for its porcelain enameled cast-iron cookware. Founded in 1925, Le Creuset originally manufactured cast-iron cookware that was glazed with a brilliant orange color inspired by the sight of molten iron as it is poured from a crucible. Today, that classic signature color has been augmented with more than a dozen other hues ranging from cherry red to Caribbean blue to glossy black.
In addition to cast-iron, Le Creuset manufactures colorful enameled kitchen cookware, bakeware and dinnerware in a variety of materials including stainless steel, non-stick cookware, glazed ceramic stoneware and tri-ply stainless steel with aluminum cores.
