UCare offers Medicare plans, a variety of state medical assistance programs, a disability plan and flexible general plans called UCare Choices. Most UCare plans come with preventive dental benefits.
UCare offers six different types of UCare Choices plans. As of March 2015, these plans are available to Minnesotans under the age of 65 in 23 counties. These plans are accessible through MNSure, the Minnesota health insurance marketplace, during open enrollment periods. Financial aid may be available depending on income.
Seniors 65 and older have access to a combined Medicare and Medical Assistance plan. There are no deductibles, and the plan includes dental and prescription drug coverage. It also includes a SilverSneakers gym membership. A variety of less comprehensive Medicare plans are available to seniors under the UCare for Seniors set of plans.
State-assisted medical programs include MinnesotaCare, the Prepaid Medical Assistance Program and Minnesota Senior Care Plus. These plans require that personal or household income be below a certain amount.
UCare Connect is UCare's disability plan. This plan is for adults with certified disabilities. There is no premium to join the plan and no deductibles. It also includes dental coverage, a free gym membership and free transportation to medical appointments through the Health Ride service.
