Boomers and other seniors over 50 may do well in jobs such as bookkeeper, college instructor, medical assistant, patient advocate and tax preparer, according to Forbes. Many of these jobs do not require significant training.
Among AARP's 2013 50 Best Employers list for seniors, many are in the medical field or education. Medical assistants can seek certification, but no special training is required. Home health aides also need no training and the field is expected to grow as the American population ages. College and vocational instructors can use experience from their previous careers to teach others, and adult education teachers can impart basic skills such as reading to those trying to advance.
