Human resources generalists administer human resources policies and practices in areas such as employee relations, benefits and compensation, training and development, organizational development as well as recruitment. In addition, they are responsible for a company's performance management systems, committee facilitation, employee communication, office space planning and hiring strategies.
Human resources generalists report to the human resources manager of a company. Most companies require candidates for the human resources generalist position to have at least a bachelor's degree. As of 2015, they make an average of $49,547 a year.
