An ING Direct Orange account is an everyday personal bank account offered by Australia's subsidiary of ING to Australian customers. To open one, individuals have to be Australian residents, have an Australian mobile telephone number and be more than 18 years old. Two forms of identification are required and applicants need to have a valid email address.
This bank account offers a number of features including the free use of ATMs across Australia to account holders who deposit a minimum of $1,000 AUD per month into the account. It also includes a 2 percent cash back offer on certain purchases to qualifying customers, and there are no monthly fees. It comes with a debit card and online banking access. This allows account holders to bank on mobile devices including phones and tablets as well as on computers. In addition, ING Direct Orange accounts can be maintained at Australia Post outlets. They can be opened by individuals although joint bank accounts are available too.
ING Direct is the Australian arm of the multinational Dutch banking and financial services company ING Group. ING Direct used to operate in the US too but that business was bought by Capital One in June 2011. It has since been rebranded as Capital One 360, therefore ING Direct Orange accounts are not available in the USA.
