Financial information company Sageworks analyzed the highest returns on equity (ROE) that have been generated by privately held companies over the previous year, and the industries that traditionally have the highest-return investments are dentist offices, legal services, accounting services, health practitioner offices, physician offices, outpatient care centers, real estate agent and broker offices, employment services, insurance and brokerage agencies and personal care services. The average return percentage for all of these industries combined is 39.10 percent, a significant increase over the average of returns for public companies which typically ranges from 10 to 12 percent, reports Forbes.com.
The highest-return investments come from dentist offices and legal services that offer a 101.1 percent and 80.5 percent ROE, respectively. Accounting services, health practitioner and physician offices and outpatient care centers all had return percentages in the 70s. The remainder of the top 10 highest-return investment industries offered ROE percentages in the 60s.
Most of the industries with high-return investments appear in the top spots of the Sageworks list of ROE analysis each year. The only new industries to appear on the list over the last 12 months are real estate agents and brokers, insurance agents and brokers and employment services. Every other top industry has ranked in the top spots since Sageworks began collecting this date, reports Forbes.com.
