Free MSDS data sheets can be utilized by employees in a variety of industries that require the use of, or exposure to, potentially hazardous materials, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This includes, but is not limited to, fire fighters, emergency health personnel and hazardous materials crews.
Material safety data sheets must be made available to employees who routinely use or are exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It is the employer's responsibility to determine if this use or exposure would be greater than that experienced by a typical consumer. Potentially hazardous materials include certain paints, thinners, dust and cleaning chemicals.
