To take the ICD-10 certification exam through AAPC, follow the steps below.
Go to the AAPC website homepage at AAPC.com.
Hover over the Education tab along the top navigation bar and click on the ICD-10 tab under the Popular Topics header.
Click on the applicable profession to view training and assessment options. Available options as of 2015 include Coder/Auditor, Physician and Practice Manager/Admin.
Review all of the available online courses, choose a program and enroll for the desired course. Pay all applicable fees and complete the assessment.
To register through AHIMA, follow the steps below.
Go to the AHIMA website homepage at AHIMA.org.
Hover over the Education tab and click on the ICD-10 tab.
Scroll down the page and click on the View A&P Courses and Assessments link to view available courses, review class requirements and register for a course or assessment. Pay applicable fees and complete the assessment.
