To find free HUD home listings, visit the HUD.gov website, click on Topic Areas, then on Homes for Sale, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This free list shows houses for sale, including single-family and multiple-family dwellings.
On the HUD website, house listings are separated by single family homes and multiple family homes, says the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Under single family homes for sale, there are homes from different agencies and organizations, including HUD, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and U.S. Marshals Service. Click on From HUD to view only HUD home listings.
Search the listings by enter different criteria or by clicking on a state on the map, explains HUD. There is also the option of selecting one of the HUD housing programs, such as nonprofits or the Good Neighbor Next Door program. Some criteria to enter when searching for homes includes entering an address, city, state or ZIP code. It is also possible to enter a price range, choose the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and select the buyer or status type.
Some status types include Price Reduced, Accepting Bids, New Listings or Showcase, notes HUD. The buyer type also includes the different programs offered for HUD home listings.
