In 1989, Larry Taylor was made managing partner of the dealership and had plans for expansion. However, it was not until 2001 that Beau Townsend and Larry Taylor purchased a Nissan franchise from Frank Z Imports. While the Nissan dealership initially remained at its prior location, a second dealership was opened next to Beau Townsend Ford to accommodate the Nissan dealership in 2005.

Townsend and Taylor later expanded again with their purchase of Lincoln Mercury of Dayton from The Martin Group in 2010. After the discontinuing of the Mercury brand, the Lincoln line was moved to the original Beau Townsend Ford dealership, where it became a part of that dealership.

The groups of dealerships under Beau Townsend are also referred to as Beau Townsend Auto Group. As of March 2015, the group has over 200 employees across its three brands. Beau Townsend Ford is located at 1020 National Road in Vandalia, and is across from the Dayton International Airport. As of 2015, the dealership can be reached via phone at 888-928-0496 for sales or 937-898-5841 for service.
