The Blue Cash Preferred American Express offers 6-percent cash back on supermarket purchases, 3 percent at gas stations and select department stores, and 1 percent back on all other purchases.
The Discover it offers 5-percent cash back on categories that rotate every three months, with a spending limit typically around $1,500, after which the card pays 1-percent cash back. The Capital One Quicksilver offers 1.5 percent back on all purchases, with new customers able to earn a $100 bonus by making $500 in purchases during their first three months.
