Gateway Health offers a choice of both FreeStyle and Precision Xtra products, with a number of FreeStyle devices included in the coverage. Policyholders can choose between the FreeStyle InsuLinx Meter, the FreeStyle Lite Meter or the FreeStyle Freedom Lite Meter.
Harvard Pilgrim offers the full range of Abbott Diabetes Care products, including the FreeStyle range of meters and test strips.
Choosing FreeStyle meters while insured by either of these companies means that the meters and test strips for the chosen devices will be provided for free. It is worth noting, however, that FreeStyle meters can be used under any policy from any company. If they are not explicitly covered by the company, the policyholder will have to pay for the meters.
Meters can be obtained for free by either visiting a doctor and getting a written prescription after choosing the preferred FreeStyle meter, or by visiting a pharmacy that the health care provider can deliver the meter to.Learn more about Health Insurance
