There are several ways to apply for Medicaid health coverage in California including applying online via the Covered California website, by mailing an application to the Covered California offices and applying in person at a local county human services agency. Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid program and it is the same as Covered California program, according to the Covered California website.
California residents with incomes amounting to 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) may qualify for Medicaid health coverage, according to HealthCare.gov. Children from birth to the age of 18 in families with household incomes of up to 261 percent of the FPL, as well as pregnant women with up to 208 percent of the FPL may also qualify for Medicaid coverage.

Type www.coveredca.com on the browser and press Enter.
Click on the Apply to Get Covered option on the main menu of the Covered California homepage. Click the Apply Now button and answer all the questions.
In some cases, a human services agency representative may call the applicant for additional information. Qualified Medi-Cal applicants will receive their benefits identification card through mail as a new Medi-Cal member.
