Goodwill Industries International, Inc. has a website, goodwill.org, which offers a store location search tool that allows customers to find the nearest store within a given city and state or ZIP code, as well as through an interactive map. As of 2015, Goodwill Industries operates over 160 independent thrift and outlet stores in multiple locations throughout the United States and Canada.
Entering a geographic location into the search box on the main page of the site and clicking Find allows a user to employ the search location tool. Clicking the Explore Our Map button opens the interactive map. The tool also features several location types for searching, including Goodwill's retail stores as well as its job training centers. Choosing the appropriate store type and entering the location brings up map listings for the stores within that area. Each location includes an icon that displays the services at the store, such as additional training or the acceptance of donations.
If the store accepts donations, the site also displays a tool that lets customers estimate the positive impact of the donation, such as paying for a certain number of hours of job training for a local participant in that location's community. The results also include links to blog posts from Goodwill employees and program participants in that area explaining how the charity affects them.
