It has 15 offices throughout British Columbia, as well as a comprehensive website at BCAssessment.ca. An average of 95 percent of assessments is complete and up-to-date by July 1st, with the remainder coming later due to restrictions or other legislative issues that have not been resolved.
The BC Land Title & Survey Authority maintains the Land Title Register that lists the legal records of all privately owned property in British Columbia. It is also responsible for monitoring the land surveying system of British Columbia. This ensures all private land surveyors and surveying companies obey all laws and survey property without bias or error.
Both of these entities must follow all guidelines of the Assessment Act and Land Title Act. As such, they are required by law to report to the government the Land Title Register and Assessment Roll on a yearly basis.
