Small business fuel cards are available from fuel card merchants such as Comdata and 360 Fuelcard. Visit the Small Business Fleets page at Comdata, click the Apply Now button, and follow the instructions. Comdata requires a bank routing number and bank account number as part of its application process. At the 360 Fuelcard website, click the Small Business Fuel Card link underneath the Apply Now tab, and submit the online application. It offers traditional, Flex-Serve and e-serve fuel card choices.
Businesses must be approved for fuel cards through the application process. Once approved, a requested number of fuel cards are delivered to the business customer. Comdata fuel cards offer flexibility, because drivers can receive cash advances and payroll payments on the cards in addition to fuel money. Comdata provides around-the-clock fuel card purchase tracking, and detailed reports are available through an online management system. Comdata's FleetAdvance service tracks driver fuel purchases by gas pump location, ranks driver fuel cost savings and provides online dashboard analysis.
Business fuel cards offered by 360 Fuelcard are accepted anywhere the MasterCard credit card is accepted. Its fuel card program gives customers a small discount each time the card is used at discount locations. While drivers can use the card at truck stops, it cannot be used for large diesel fuel purchases.
