Businesses who want to inspire trust can register with the BBB and consumers who have complaints that have not been resolved by a company directly can take their issues to the BBB for resolution.
The BBB handles a wide variety of customer complaints, including poor service, no service and payment issues. The BBB does not handle interoffice problems, issues that have already litigated, or claims involving the quality of health care or legal services.
When filing a complaint, consumers must provide as much information as possible, including the details of the claim, the reason for filing a claim, personal contact information and the name of the business. The BBB handles most claims through mediation but in extreme cases, the organization may seek legal recourse to settle an issue.
