Some famous car commercials are Mercedes Benz's "Fable" ad, Kia Sorrento's commercial featuring Pierce Brosnan and BMW's advertisement starring "Today" show co-hosts Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel. These car commercials originally aired during the 49th Super Bowl on Feb. 1, 2015.
The Mercedes Benz "Fable" commercial features the classic story of the race between the hare and the turtle in CGI animation. The turtle wins the race because he purchases a Mercedes Benz in the middle of the race. In the Kia commercial, former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan gets pitched to do a family car commercial, but he imagines the car to be like one of the secret agent's fancy cars. The BMW ad shows old footage of Couric and Gumbel in 1994 cluelessly talking about the Internet, which was new technology at the time. The commercial then fast forwards to present day with Couric and Gumbel driving the latest BMW and trying to figure out its technological features.
The ads were seen by between 114 million and 120 million viewers. NBC reportedly charged $4.5 million for a 30-second commercial.
