To be eligible for membership in Achieva Credit Union, individuals must live or work in one of the counties Achieva services in Florida, according to the company website. Those who live and work outside the geographical range of Achieva's membership are able to join the credit union by making a donation to the Achieva Foundation. Parents, children, spouses or other relatives of Achieva members who live outside the field of membership are also eligible to join. Individuals who are at least 18 years old and U.S. citizens or qualified resident aliens can join by filling out an application online or in person and paying a $15 membership fee and a minimum $1 deposit into a savings account, as of 2015. When filling out the application, individuals can opt for a free checking account.
Checking account options include the Emerald Checking account, which offers high-yield interest with a minimum number of transactions per month, advises Achieva Credit Union. It has free online banking, online bill pay and cash withdrawals from participating ATMs as well as no minimum balance requirement or annual debit card fee.
