On the Massachusetts Health Connector page, click Get Started and choose either Individuals & Families, Small Businesses, or Brokers. Choosing Individuals & Families provides information about choosing a plan and the open enrollment period. Open enrollment is between November and January of the following year, according to Massachusetts Health Connector. There are some instances where you can get coverage outside of the enrollment period. These include purchasing dental insurance and qualifying life events, such as having a new baby or changing jobs.

Click Apply for Coverage once you're ready to choose a plan. Enter the basic information about your household size and income to access a list of options. You can look at different plans, including their monthly premiums, deductibles and covered services, and view plans side-by-side to compare them. To apply, you need to provide your income for the previous year with pay stubs or tax returns, Social Security numbers for all applicants and a form of payment if paying online.
