As of 2015, the Westinghouse company, now owned by Toshiba, still makes a wide selection of kitchen appliances and other home electronics. Westinghouse began producing electronics in 1886 and continued to do so throughout much of the 20th and 21st centuries, with production interrupted only briefly in the 1990s.
Westinghouse was purchased by CBS company in 1995, resulting in Westinghouse appliances briefly being taken off the market. However, beginning in 1998, products were once again released under the Westinghouse name as part of a brand licensing subsidiary program.
The current line of Westinghouse appliances include both small and large items for the kitchen, televisions, alarm systems, audio-video accessories like headphones and light fixtures.
