As of 2015, the number to contact the Oregon Renters Rights Hotline is 503-288-0130. The Hotline is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Tuesdays, the Hotline is open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Volunteers answer any calls that the Hotline receives. The Oregon Community Alliance of Tenants website states that callers can expect a return call within one to two days. Members of the Community Alliance of Tenants receive answers to their calls first. Callers from Portland, Beaverton, Washington County and Multnomah County are the next ones who receive answers. The Hotline does not guarantee answers to calls from any other areas.
The Community Alliance of Tenants in Oregon is an organization that advocates for the rights of tenants. The control of the organization lies with tenants themselves. Tenants can choose to take part in the organization's activities by becoming members. The aim of the organization is to educate and empower tenants by explaining their rights and the laws that apply to them.
The Oregon Renters Rights Hotline is one of the programs the organization runs to help tenants. The organization also conducts workshops, distributes brochures and carries out research in partnership with academics.
