The Con-way trucking company known as Con-way Transportation Services was founded in 1983. The origins of the company, however, date back to 1929 when Leland James founded Consolidated Truck Line, a small trucking company based in Portland, Oregon. In 2006, the company was renamed Con-way Inc.
