The online business publication The Motley Fool lists Amgen, Phillip Morris International and ConocoPhillips as the companies with the best retirement plans, as of 2014. Financial publishing giant Bloomberg conducted the research and listed the companies with the top retirement programs.
Amgen, which specializes in biotechnology, contributes 5 percent of an employee’s income to a retirement fund whether or not an employee chooses to match her own funds. Phillip Morris, the tobacco conglomerate, offers the traditional 5 percent company match along with an extra 15 percent contribution to the retirement fund. ConocoPhillips, the natural gas and oil distributor, offers employees who save 1 percent of their income an additional 9 percent contribution to their retirement accounts.
