Starlight Marketing Ltd. manufactures televisions for Polaroid. In 2010, Polaroid and Starlight made a six-year license agreement, which is worth an estimated $500 million over the life of the agreement, in which Starlight would manufacture Polaroid televisions for sale in the United States and Canada.
Starlight is a subsidiary of Starlight International Holdings Ltd., which is a Hong Kong-based consumer electronics company founded in 1969. Starlight has a number of relationships with large American retailers, including Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target and Sears. Edwin Land founded Polaroid in 1937, and the company has been a leader in instant photography products since that time.
