Companies that offer reward points programs include Gilt, Gap and Best Buy as of June 2015. Each program has higher levels of membership available for spending enough money or accumulating enough points.
Gilt members receive points for actions such as visiting the company's website, making purchases, referring friends to the company, "liking" the company on Facebook and signing into the company's website five days in a row. Benefits can include early access to sales, free shipping and discounts. Members begin in the General tier and progress to the Select, Premier and Noir tiers after accumulating enough points.
Members of the Gap Rewards program receive points for purchases made at Gap or its sister companies, such as Banana Republic and Old Navy. The program requires applicants to sign up for a GapCard credit card. Purchases made at other locations with the card accumulate a lesser number of points. Once a certain number of points are accumulated, the member receives a reward.
Best Buy Reward Zone members receive points for purchases made at Best Buy. Members who open a Best Buy credit card receive a larger number of points per purchase and accumulate points for purchases made with the card at other locations. Once a certain number of points are accumulated, the member receives a reward. If he meets purchasing minimums, a member is upgraded to the elite and eliteplus tiers.
