Current stock market prices are available online through numerous news and financial services websites, including CNN, Bloomberg, and Yahoo and Google's finance sites. Stock prices are also available directly on many stock exchange websites, including for the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.
Other sites providing stock market quotes include MarketWatch, TMX Money and Fox Business. This information is also provided by Morningstar, which itself is the provider for several other companies, including CNN and Yahoo. Also provided on these sites are the values of major indexes such as the S&P 500. Most sites provide this data for informational use and not commercial decision-making, as is emphasized in disclaimers on sites such as Google.
Many online resources include additional relevant stock information beyond current prices. For example, Bloomberg provides a stock's opening and previous day's closing prices, 52-week range, and various ratios and other performance metrics. While online stock quotes are generally referred to as being up to date, most information is delayed slightly. For example, some data available through Google Finance is provided in real time, such as select New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ listings, according to the search engine's own site. However, information from many other exchanges, such as the Toronto Stock Exchange, is often delayed 15 minutes or more.
