Students with disabilities may want to consider turning to the American Association of People with Disabilities, which offers scholarships for students with disabilities, says Best Colleges. One such scholarship is the AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability.
The AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability is for students with documented disabilities, according to Best Colleges. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as juniors or seniors in four-year undergraduate colleges or be enrolled in graduate school pursuing a degree that relates to a disability. The award is under $1,000, and the deadline to apply is November 14 of each year, says Best Colleges.
Disabled Person also offers a scholarship, as Best Colleges describes. The amount varies, but applicants must be enrolled in two- or four-year colleges or universities attending either part-time or full-time. The deadline to apply is March 15.
Students with certain chronic conditions may be eligible for college scholarships as well, according to Best Colleges. For example, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society offers a scholarship to first-time college students who either have multiple sclerosis or have a parent with multiple sclerosis; the award is between $1,000 and $3,000. The deadline to apply is January 15.
