The Third Baptist Church in St. Louis and Buckner Children and Family Services assisted a man who approached them in need of assistance. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides assistance to members unable to pay bills or mortgages.
According to Enlighten Me, most churches have funds set aside to at least help with utility bills. Parishioners may qualify for a one-time donation to pay for rent. Even those outside church membership are encouraged to visit churches for possible assistance. Aside from churches, the Department of Housing and Urban Development may have programs to finance a portion of needed rent.
