Visa Extras points out that it may take as long as one to two weeks for points earned on qualifying in-store purchases made in the United States to be posted to a rewards account. Other transactions, such as bonus points, reward points earned for online purchases, and points earned for foreign transactions may take even longer to be posted.
Additionally, depending on the reward program Terms and Conditions promulgated by the issuer of the customer's Visa card, unredeemed points may expire as early as 36 months after being posted to a customer's rewards program account. The customer may not be provided with advance notice that points are expiring, therefore customers should monitor their rewards program account regularly, says Visa Extras.
Additionally, according to Visa Extras, as of 2015, the Visa Extras rewards points program is offered only to residents of the United States who have a Visa card issued by a participating U.S. Visa card issuer.
