MarketWatch’s homepage allows visitors to check current stock quotes from the most popular stocks without creating an account as of 2015, according to the company’s website. The tab next to the most popular stocks allows visitors to view the most recent stock quotes they viewed. There is a delay of 15 minutes for stock quotes on the Nasdaq and 20 minutes for all other exchanges.
MarketWatch provides a Symbol Lookup page where users can enter a company’s name and the security type, such as a stock, fund, index or currency, and then search for the company’s symbol and its current stock price, as the website indicates. The stock Symbol Lookup page also provides a market snapshot along with popular financial news feeds.
The MarketWatch homepage features tabs allowing users to view information related to other markets, such as Europe and the Middle East, and a Trading Deck featuring opinions on investing and trading from professional investors and not staff journalists. The Personal Finance tab on the homepage provides articles on real estate, careers, spending, saving and taxes. The Economy tab provides news feeds regarding the Federal Reserve and how its decisions affect the U.S. economy, including how a Fed rate hike may affect stock prices.
