To check the balance on a Visa card, visit the website of the institution associated with the Visa account. Another method is calling the phone number listed on the back of the card.
If the Visa card is for a personal credit and debit account, visit the website using your log-in credentials to view your card's balance. The Visa card generally has the name of the institution located on it, as well as the relevant web address. However, you must own the account and the necessary log-in credentials to access the balance. Gaining access to a credit and debit account without the log-in credentials requires you to provide personal identifying information such as your account number or the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
If the Visa is a gift card or you can't gain online access to a credit and debit account, simply call the number listed on the back of the card, and speak with a customer service representative. The representative can assist you in locating your account, verifying your identity and determining the card's balance. In both cases, however, you must have the physical card and be the owner of the account or gift balance.
