Full Answer

To gain access to the electronic medical form, a user seeking certification must first create an account by going to the FAA MedXPress login page and selecting, Request Account on the upper-left side. Once the user completes the request for an account, he receives an email with instructions on how to complete registration. Once registration is complete, the user can log in to the FAA MedXPress system and proceed to the Form 8500-8, which is the first step to certification.

After a user completes Form 8500-8 and submits the exam online, the system gives the user a confirmation number, as well as the option to view a summary of the exam application. It is important that the user saves this confirmation number, as he may need it later in the certification process. Once the user enters information into the MedXPress system, that information is submitted to the FAA and is no longer available for the user's aviation medical examiner to review at the time of his medical examination.
