To use the Freedom Health OTC process, individuals must have both Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B, be an active member of the Freedom Health plan, and log into Freedom Health's Member Portal. Additionally, they must live within the service area of the plan.
The Member Portal on the Freedom Health website allows members of the Freedom Health plan to place orders for over-the-counter and diabetic supplies, order and print ID cards and view member information such as benefits, claims and evidence of coverage. Members can also search for specific doctors, pharmacies and prescription drugs.
Members access the Member Portal by going to the Freedom Health website main page, dragging their mouse to OTC in the toolbar at the top of the page, clicking on Order Online and clicking on Click Here to Register for the Member Portal. Step-by-step instructions guide members through the registration process as well as the process of selecting and ordering drugs and other medical supplies.
Members must inform physicians and other health care providers that they belong to a Freedom Health plan. They must also inform Freedom Health member services of any other health plans to which they belong for coordination of benefits. They must pay Medicare Part B and sometimes Medicare Part A premiums and also pay any necessary co-payments or co-insurance. When members move outside of the service area, they can no longer be part of Freedom Health and must enroll in another health plan.
