The Internal Revenue Service no longer offers a refund chart for income tax refunds, as of 2015; however, an estimated refund chart is available on the IRS Refund Schedule website. The estimated chart is based on prior year dates, visitor input and IRS news.
The IRS issues most refunds to taxpayers in fewer than 21 calendar days after receiving returns. The IRS offers a Where’s My Refund webpage and an IRS2Go mobile app that allows taxpayers to check on the status of their refunds within 24 hours of receipt for electronically filed returns or within four weeks for paper returns mailed to the IRS. Taxpayers can also call the IRS after 21 days of refund receipt to find out the status of their returns.
