Alternatively, go to Unclaimed.org, use the interactive map to find your state database, and click on the link to conduct a state search, reports the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. Be wary of businesses that offer to help you conduct a search for a fee or percentage of the lost funds. Searching state databases is free, and you can easily do it yourself.
