Moose International’s website provides a link on the home screen to donate directly to Moose charities. Another way to support the local Moose chapter is to join, and then give time and energy to support needs in the immediate community and across the nation.
Anyone can donate financially on the Moose International website by clicking on the Donate button and selecting a charity to support. Donations can be given in honor or memory of a loved one or as a recurring gift. Local chapters can be located by clicking on Find a Lodge or Chapter and then entering a zip code or address. Most chapters have a website with contact information, upcoming events and news items.
Moose International was founded in 1888 as a way for men to meet socially and create community by sharing life’s joys and difficulties together. The Moose Lodge structure grew to include women in Women of the Moose chapters. Moose International has its own group of charities, Mooseheart Child City & School, Moosehaven retirement community and Heart of the Community, and the organization also supports nationwide charities, such as Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Special Olympics, the Salvation Army and St. Jude. Members in local chapters donate not only financially to these charities, but also time and energy in fundraisers and community service.
Joining a local Moose chapter provides the opportunity to become actively involved in supporting a number of charities, while being connected to a group of like-minded people. Members can be elected to serve not only in traditional offices, but as Community Service Officer, Moose Charities Officer, Family Involvement Officer and Educational Advancement Officer.
