Information about houses sold in 2012 is available in the News Releases section at Realtor.org as of 2015, states the National Association of Realtors. In 2012, the price to purchase a home reached a seven-year high, and total sales reached a five-year high.
There were 4.65 million existing-home sales in 2012, up from 4.26 million in 2011, notes the National Association of Realtors. Properties sold include condominiums, co-ops, townhouses and single-family dwellings. The nationwide median price for existing homes was $176,600, a 6.3 percent increase from the 2011 price of $166,100. Sales increased due in part to interest rates that reached record lows during 2012.
