Typically, a person applies for a newspaper carrier job directly through the circulation department at the main offices of a local, state, regional or national newspaper. In a small community, a person can simply go to the circulation department. Another option is to call or email the circulation director.
Many newspapers post carrier job ads in copies of the newspaper as well as on their websites. Turnover is often high for route carriers, so some papers have these job ads running almost daily. It is common for teenagers to work as route carriers, but they may need a parent to sign paperwork authorizing them to work as a carrier.
