The U.S. National Library of Medicine's Unified Medical Language System contains complete downloadable data sets from the most recent SNOMED-CT editions for offline use. Archived editions dating back to 2011 are also available for download.
In 2014, management and oversight of the SNOMED-CT codes for the non-human subset, specifically for the veterinary field, were transferred to the Veterinary Terminology Services Laboratory at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. The laboratory offers an free online browser and provides downloadable data files by request.
The SNOMED-CT is an international guide containing standardized numeric codes for more than 300,000 medical concepts and terms in several languages. These codes are used by medical professionals and institutions worldwide for medical charting and billing and are divided into several subcategories, including clinical diagnoses, laboratory results, patient care summaries and pharmaceutical products.
