Costco members can save on prescriptions through Costco by enrolling in Costco's Member Prescription Program, or CMPP. This program provides prescription savings for members and their families, including those members who do not have any type of prescription drug coverage or those whose coverage is insufficient for covering all of their prescription needs.
All Costco members and their dependents without prescription drug coverage are eligible to apply for CMPP. Costco's program is not available for anyone who is receiving benefits from programs like Medicaid or Medicare, or other types of publicly funded health insurance programs.
There is no additional charge for Costco members who choose to participate in CMPP. To join, members complete enrollment forms that are available for download and printing online, or they can pick up an enrollment form at any Costco pharmacy. After filling out the form, the member returns the form to the pharmacist.
Costco stipulates that this program is not a type of drug coverage or insurance, but is an added benefit for Costco members that can help with obtaining lower prices for some medications. Only those medications listed on the CMPP's Preferred Drug List are eligible for the discount. In addition, the program covers certain pet medications.
