A compensation plan is a document that details all of the compensation an employee receives from an employer including salary, benefits, bonuses and other forms of payment such as stock options or commission. The plan lays out the amount of compensation the employee receives as well as the additional duties the employee must perform to receive bonuses. Some compensation plans detail the company's raise schedule and let employees know when to expect a higher salary.
