Xcel Energy accepts one-time bill payments over the telephone. You can only make payments with a checking or savings accounts. Use your Xcel Energy account number, checking or savings account number and your bank’s routing number to complete the payment.

To pay your bill in person, take your bill stub or your Xcel Energy account number to one of the company’s pay stations. Pay stations accept both cash and money orders. There is a $1.50 transaction fee for each bill payment.

Xcel Energy provides a pre-addressed return envelope with each user’s monthly bill. Use this envelope to send your bill stub and payment through the mail.

Xcel Energy, in partnership with BillMatrix, accepts credit and debit cards as payment methods. You can pay your bill using a credit or debit card online at the BillMatrix website and through Xcel Energy’s My Account. As of 2015, this payment option is not available to customers in Texas.
