Customers can also set up automated funds transfers by faxing a form, calling Puget Sound Energy or mailing a form with a voided check enclosed. The telephone number for payments, as of 2015, is 1-888-225-5773. A third-party vendor associated with Puget Sound Energy imposes a fee for customers who pay via phone. The fee also applies for customers who pay online with debit or credit cards. Online payments made via withdrawal from a bank account do not have associated fees.
Customers can pay in person by walking into a pay station or customer service location. Payment is free, and customers can pay through cash, check debit and money order, although some locations do not accept all payment methods. Unauthorized locations may also charge a fee.
Customers who mail payments via postal mail do so for free. They enclose a check, money order or cashier's check with their payment coupon. It can take as much as seven days for a mailed payment to be posted to the customer's account.
