Set up an online account by clicking the Register Your Amazon.com Store Card link located on the left side of the home page, instructs Amazon.com. Follow the prompts to establish an account before making a payment. Once logged into the account, hover the mouse over the Payments heading located at the top of the account page, and click the Make a Payment link. On the Payment Web page, choose Minimum Payment, Statement Balance or Current Balance. Select Other to manually enter a payment amount.

Enter the payment instrument information, including checking account and account number, advises Amazon.com. Confirm the information, and click the Make a Payment link. Set up recurring payments by selecting the Enroll in Recurring Payments link located under the Payments heading on the main account Web page.

Telephone payments made through the automated system are free of charge, notes Amazon.com. A $10 service fee may apply if a telephone payment is made with a Synchrony Bank representative.
