Consumers can order a copy of their ChexSystems report online by visiting the official website for the company, ConsumerDebit.com. Visitors to the site have to click on the Order Consumer Report tab and then agree to the terms and conditions before they are taken to the order screen.
Once they have agreed to the terms and conditions consumers are asked if they have had an application to open an account declined within the last 60 days, and if ChexSystems was used in making that decision. After answering, consumers are taken to a page where they are asked to verify whether or not they are over the age of 18. This is important to note, because only those that are 18 years old or older are able to order a copy of their ChexSystems report online.
Consumers can also order a copy of their ChexSystems report by calling the toll-free phone number, or they can fax an order form directly to the office. Order forms can also be sent via mail to ChexSystems as well. Reports are mailed to consumers within five business days of receiving the request.
The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act provides consumers with the right to receive a free copy of consumer reports once every 12 months. However, consumers do have to request the report in order to receive it.
